Praying from Afar

Mark 8:6,13 NIV
“Lord,” he (the centurion) my servant lies at home paralyzed and in terrible suffering.” …Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go! It will be done just as you believed it would.”
The centurion had such rock-solid faith in Jesus authority and ability to heal.  He wasn’t even an Israelite. He didn’t even need to  see Jesus touch his servant or take him by the hand.  He was sure that Jesus could heal him at a distance which he did.
Our prayers are also effective at a distance.  It’s always comforting that the prayers of friends and family who live at a distance are blessing us and that we can bless our far away loved ones as well. James in his epistle reminds us that the prayers of a righteous man (or woman) are very influential.  I need to remember that prayer in Jesus name is a powerful force.
