Mysteries

The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children. Deuteronomy 29:29 NIV

I am not the most curious person around.  There are some things that interest me and I like to find out a lot about them, but there are lots of other things that I am willing to observe in a superficial way. When I start to think about it, the world is just full of so much that one person can never even begin to scratch the surface of all  knowledge.  Even experts in a field only have a small understanding of their area of interest.  Doctors specialize in quite concentrated areas and yet they continually are faced with the fact that they know so little.  New species of plants and animals and ocean creatures are still being discovered.  Every day occurrences are mysteries: Do we know how a plant germinates? Do we know how birds improvise songs? Do we know how babies learn language? Or why some things make us laugh? So much we don’t know.

But God has revealed some really important things to us. He has revealed to us that he exists and he has revealed to us that he sent his son to be our Saviour. He has given us all the guidance we need to live a fulfilling life filled with love.  After we die, we will have all our questions answered, but in the meantime God has given us what we need to know.
